MATTY & BELLE Mattel® Sans is the brand’s first custom typeface in 80 years ensuring versatile consistency across all brands in Mattel, inc.’s vast and diverse portfolio.

The GERTRUDE, INC. created custom typeface is very much on brand. MATTY & BELLE Mattel® Sans inspire a timeless font design for the toymaker giant who has long focused on Creativity, Playfulness, and Innovation.

The typeface is designed to work across all Mattel, Inc. brands (including Barbie®, Hot Wheels®, UNO®, Masters of The Universe®, etc.) specifically for Digital, Packaging, Trade Show Displays, and Social Content.

The new custom typeface is named after the “King of Toys,” MATTY, and his little sister BELLE Mattel®, the 1950s mascots for Mattel, Inc. Toymakers.

OUTCOME

Matty is a timeless all-caps display sans-serif typeface, so versatile and looks great in just about any context. With three weights (Regular, Semibold, Bold) and two styles—MATTY & BELLE Mattel® Sans, you can create beautiful, consistent bold, playful designs in logos, digital, and printed materials.

By holding down the option (alt on Windows) key, you can access the more playful characters and logos in the BELLE Mattel® Sans Special Characters & Glyphs library.
