CHI-LDN-NYC – “When impossible is nothing, nothing is impossible.” Mohammad Ali knew a thing or two about keeping a mindset to fuel greatness. His iconic, steadfast spirit inspired GERTRUDE, INC. to commission a mural for the agency’s global HQ.
Based on an iconic and untitled photo of Ali taken by legendary photographer Gordon Parks in 1970 that captures a different side of the famous fighter. GERTRUDE enlisted two prominent Chicago-based artists who create and connect in their own art with masterful precision: internationally recognized, large-scale x hyper-real muralist Jeff Zimmermann (@jeffzimmermann); and Pilsen-raised Calligraffiti phenom Tubs (@tubsz_illa). The not-subtle 16’H x 20’W mural, situated on GERTRUDE’s west-facing main entrance, is a showstopper that conjures surprise, delight, and respect—for Ali, for creativity, and for rejecting impossible and embracing possibility.
