KETEL ONE VODKA – MODULAR BAR SYSTEM – DESIGN AND FABRICATION

OBSESSIVELY PERFECT BAR

GERTRUDE’s Experiential + Branded Architecture division RAYE led the design development of a modular bar system for Ketel One Vodka, coinciding with the global brand refresh and launch of the brand’s “It Has To Be Perfect” campaign celebrating its 325-year anniversary.

The bar would be the centerpiece for Ketel One Vodka to create and communicate a clear and consistent brand story at all events globally through superior branding, design, and craftsmanship, with a narrative focused on 1) Ketel One’s 11 generations of heritage, 2) Quirky Dutch character, and 3) Obsessive attention to detail.

OUTCOME

RAYE conceived, designed, and handcrafted a modular bar structure capturing the brilliance of brand’s exceptional heritage and superior attention to detail through the use of materials, textures, and accents highlighting various aspects of Ketel One Vodka’s rich brand story. Warm white, handpainted wood was paired with shou-sugi ban (charred cedar) and copper details to reflect the original coal-fired copper still (Distilleerketel #1). To represent 11 generations of family bloodline, a detail of high-polished red piping traveled from the top of the backbar down to and wrapping around the front of the bar. The bar came together with finishing details including layered, laser cut metal Ketel One branded signs, branded etched shelves, etched copper plaques, lit bottle pedestals, and edison lighting.
